We came back to this property in December, staying from the 9th to the 11th across three rooms. We’d stayed here before, so this was especially disappointing. My son-in-law used his card to pay for his and my daughter’s room, but Abigail at reception said the payment hadn’t gone through and tried again. Then my son paid with his own card. When we checked our accounts on departure day, we found that my son-in-law’s card had also been charged $383.00 on check-in day. Abigail and Mariana were at the desk when we asked for the money back. Mariana said she needed to contact the manager, Juan Carlos Perez Delgado, who would come sort it out, but he never appeared. They then offered a cash refund and said it had to come from a different bank than the one that received the payment. They also insisted the refund go to a Mexican account. We didn’t have one, so I asked someone I know in Mexico if we could use theirs, and they agreed. We were told the money would arrive by Friday, but it didn’t. My calls and emails went unanswered. When someone did respond, they said Abigail was handling it because she had made the transaction. I explained that she wasn’t returning my calls and asked when the refund would actually happen. Later, I got an email saying it would be at the beginning of the year. Eventually, they deposited the money into the other person’s Mexican account because they refused to return it to the card that had been charged. To this day, that person still hasn’t passed the money on to the person who is owed it. This whole mess started because they wouldn’t credit my son-in-law’s card. The staff were unprofessional and poor at communicating, and the property is responsible for the situation. If you stay here, check your transactions carefully and don’t leave while a refund is still outstanding.
