Los Patios Hotel

The pool is warm and 4.75 feet deep, with a towel system. There’s a cute courtyard, a bar and restaurant, luggage storage, and a balcony where you can see one of the famous Cabo rocks. Breakfast includes eggs made how you ask, the water tastes clean and not chlorinated, and staff speak English or can use phone translation. The grounds are lovely, too. I liked avoiding the huge resort walks and atmosphere for half our week, and I’d stay here again. Getting around on foot was difficult during our visit. The hotel sits on a mostly unpaved dirt road, and after rain there were puddles and passing cars splashed us. The driveway is damaged from rain and a mudslide. From the marina side of the freeway, you have to go well past the hotel to find an exit and turn around. It looks close to Costco and Walmart, but I’m not sure it’s walkable. A bus comes every 20-30 minutes, but you really can’t cross that freeway. Be careful with taxis booked at reception. We were quoted 350-400 pesos for round trips, then charged 800, and they called it a misunderstanding, though it seemed clear they were taking advantage. Uber was our preference. Rides weren’t 100 pesos or $5 USD, but usually $6.5-10, or 130-210 pesos. At Marina mall, we stocked up on sushi and pastries for 10-20 pesos at the grocery store. Skip the pizza, it was pretty gross. There’s a food court between the pricier bars and restaurants. Two scoops of ice cream cost 105 pesos and looked like gelato, and the large iced juices from La B...something were 55 pesos and a real treat.
