Hotel Antillano Cancun

The bathroom was clean and the showers were nice, and breakfast was a good Continental spread. The location is really great, the price is cheap, the interior is pretty decent, and the Wi-Fi worked fairly well. It did get a bit loud at night, though I was there on New Year's Eve, so that may have been why. I'd recommend it.

It's a comfortable, clean, air-conditioned place to stay cheaply, though some might find the rooms too cold. There's no elevator, and the pool is small. Plenty of nearby spots serve inexpensive, good Mexican food. Buses stop right out front for the beach and hotel zone, for $12 pesos, about 75 cents. Stay here and save money.

I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it if you're visiting Cancún on a budget. The location is very central, with banks, ATMs, supermarkets, convenience stores, and a lovely park with local food options all within walking distance. The people were very nice and the service was excellent. Rooms are cozy, with really comfortable beds. There's also a shallow pool, about four feet at its deepest, that works well for relaxing or for kids.

They eventually found my reservation in the morning, but then said they were deducting “local taxes” even though I'd already paid in full. When I challenged that, the woman told me I should learn to read the terms and conditions. I asked her to show me where it said that, and she couldn't. She said I could have the “tax” money back since I clearly needed it more. Great hospitality! I arrived at 3 a.m. and they couldn't find my booking. I waited around 30 minutes and showed them the confirmation email, the website confirmation, the booking app, and my bank transaction. Even after the booking company called them, they still made me pay again and said I could sort it out in the morning. Without cash on hand, I would've been in a tough spot so late at night.
