It felt like being in a horror movie. The door’s inner handle was broken, and the room looked badly outdated. We asked to switch rooms, but the replacement was almost the same. Then the water ran out, and the bathroom was falling apart. We heard noises and felt scared because the rooms didn’t seem safe. The place looked like an old shopping center with offices turned into rooms, and it hadn’t been maintained. One of my worst experiences.

I only had one night in Cancun while traveling from Bogota to Vancouver. The price was the one good thing. The hotel felt in the middle of nowhere, with no shops or restaurants nearby. On my second trip, the shower didn’t work, there was no soap, and the WiFi was out. Very disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it. My taxi to the airport was booked for 6am, but it disappeared from sight when I left my room at that time. Nobody was at reception. After I yelled for 10 minutes, someone from the taxi company arrived and took me to the airport. An absolute nightmare.

The huge cockroach was disgusting, and the door had no locks, so you basically had to put a table in front of it for security. There were no towels, hot water, or toilet paper either. This is the nastiest place I’ve ever stayed in any country. My tent in Afghanistan was better.

DO NOT BOOK. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. I chose it because it was economical and close to the airport. I arrived at 2 pm, but they refused to check me in and said check-in started at 3, even though the booking said 2. I waited until 3, then was told the remaining amount had to be paid in cash. That wasn’t mentioned in the hotels.com listing, and hotels.com confirmed that. The property looked unmaintained. The first room they showed me was missing a shower head. They offered another room only if I paid cash. I contacted hotels.com to resolve it and move me elsewhere. The staff were no help and just walked away when I said I couldn’t pay cash.
