The room was clean, and having the free airport shuttle was a real help for my one-night stay. The rest of the experience had a couple of letdowns. When I called for room service, a lot of the menu wasn't available. They quoted 20 minutes, but it took more than an hour, and the tray arrived filthy. Later, an alarm kept sounding in a room across the hall. I called reception and was told they'd check on it, but half an hour later it was still going. I eventually had to go down to reception myself to get it dealt with. Staff seemed overwhelmed, and maybe the hotel needs more people working.

The location's handy, and the service was decent, but the hotel isn't clean, so pay attention to the reviews. Food nearby is easy to find: there are three great taco restaurants to the right of the hotel, and a 7/11 close by.

If you can, stay somewhere else. We showed up four hours early, but checking in still meant waiting in line for an hour and a half. It was total chaos, and most of the reviews are bad.

The location worked well, with plenty of shops nearby and downtown Cancun close by, though I mean the city center, not the hotel zone. Breakfast was pretty good, but the room price felt high for this kind of place. The rooms were small, old, and not pleasant. The AC was so loud when we switched it on that I struggled to fall asleep. Thankfully, we only needed one night. I expected decent standards because of the Marriott name, but that wasn't my experience.
