Hotel La Jolla Express

The staff’s attitude was awful and left a lot to be desired. They acted like I wasn’t going to pay for their service. During my stay they even deactivated my room key, and when I asked about it, the person on duty treated me as if I’d stolen something valuable from the hotel. They checked me in however they wanted, which caused problems for me later. I suggest they train the staff in customer service and attitude. I absolutely don’t recommend this hotel.

The rates are reasonable, and the rooms are spacious, but the beds could be more comfortable. Parking is very limited. It’s a basic hotel, fine for an overnight stay, especially if you’re traveling for work.

The information didn’t match and the schedules kept changing. The bathroom in my room didn’t work, and they charged extra to move me to another room. They never sent anyone to fix it.

I’d read good reviews, but my own experience was different. The place is very small, and when the air conditioning in one room failed, they had to move us. The replacement room was on the top floor and stayed quite hot all day. I understand that’s the climate here, but the rooms on the other floors were unoccupied.
