Hotel Kuliacan by Grupo La Jolla

A nice place.

In the morning, a stranger opened my door, saying he'd been given the wrong room. It made me wonder whether all the rooms use the same key. Earlier, I'd found two dead cockroaches in my room. I asked the receptionist to move me, but she came in and swept them up instead. When I returned, there was another, live one. I went to request my deposit back, and they offered me a different room. I spent the night there without seeing any cockroaches, but that didn't make up for the stranger entering. I absolutely don't recommend this place. It's not fit to provide service.

The bathroom was decent, with plenty of space and a clothesline, but I wouldn't come back because of the parking. The lot is tiny and its exit leads onto a very busy street, so getting out is even more difficult than getting in. The air conditioning never cooled the room, the TV had no signal and we could only watch Netflix, and the beds were very hard. The hotel also really needs an elevator. It's a cheap place, so the price is okay, but there are too many drawbacks.

The location worked really well for me, which is why I chose to stay, but service was truly awful. There was no hot water. When I complained, they said they didn't know; after I pushed, they said a technician would come the next day. I was there for three days and four nights, and only got lukewarm water on one day. We booked a room with three beds, but two mattresses were extremely hard and only one was comfortable. The listing says the jumbo room has a kitchen, fridge, and dining area, yet there were no pans or other cooking utensils. When I asked to borrow some, they said both pans they had were already lent to the other room.
