Hotel ibis Culiacan

I asked specifically to be charged in pesos on my U.S. bank card, but the Ibis hotel charged me in dollars through its currency conversion service, at a worse exchange rate. That raised the room cost. It wasn't a lot of money, but I don't like feeling cheated, and I won't stay there again.

The rooms were okay, but cramped, with barely enough space for the full-size beds. I also wished there had been a pool. When we asked what time breakfast would be ready, the girls at the counter seemed to be having a bad day.

I tried calling many times before my stay to ask about parking and the room, but the person on the phone hung up on me several times in a row. Once I got into bed, I started hearing scratching. There are tons of bedbugs here, and it didn't seem very safe either. It also smelled bad and was very expensive.

The internet connection was stable, and the restaurant stayed open for most of the day, which was convenient. I picked this place for its proximity to the airport, and it offers free airport transportation. But the door was hard to open, and with all my baggage, getting everything into the room was difficult. The shower temperature kept changing suddenly, and there was no shampoo or soap. It's a little far from downtown, though Uber is easy to get. The price seemed a bit cheap, but for a pleasure trip, I think you could find a better located hotel for the same price.
