The location made this a great stay. Right behind the hotel is a lively square with plenty of places to eat, food stalls, and a supermarket next door. The staff were kind and helpful. My room had a lovely boutique feel, three balconies, and a super comfortable bed. Breakfast was basic, just coffee, two pancakes, and fruit, but it was enough to get me going. I was there for three nights and didn’t mind having the same thing each morning, though it might get repetitive after four or five days. Live shows in the square can make it noisy at night. If you’re a light sleeper and want to be in bed before midnight, that could be a problem. I’d happily return on my next trip to Cancun and definitely recommend the hotel.
The location is kick ass, and the hotel has a lot of potential, but our stay didn’t match what we booked. We’d reserved a room with a kitchenette and balcony, yet got neither, and there wasn’t even a mini fridge. Trying to sort it out at the front desk was awkward with my poor Spanish and her poor English, lol. There’s no proper restaurant or bar, though there’s room for one. The pool area is small, with just two loungers and the rest being chairs, plus no tables. It’s a cool hotel, just not living up to what it could be.
It was a very clean place, and the staff were incredibly friendly, especially the cleaning team. Staying in the heart of Cancun let us see a lot of the city on foot, and we could park our car safely outside. It’s a great budget option away from the Hotel Zone. Thanks to the hotel and staff for a really good stay. One thing that could be improved is the smell from the water pipes in the room.
For 1140 pesos, or 57 US dollars, this was rough. The room smelled of mildew, the internet didn’t work, and there was no hot water. The shower barely dripped, and the bathroom was so cramped that closing the door meant hitting yourself. The air conditioning was preset to stop at 76 and wouldn’t cool below that. The breakfast was embarrassing to call breakfast, and the door lock wobbled like it was about to break.
We stayed here a couple of years ago and chose it again for this trip. We’re excited to be back. The park area has been made beautiful, the traffic changes make crossing the street safer at any hour, and the park community is wonderful. The food around there is fantastic too. When we arrived, Freda at the front desk explained that Agoda, the booking site we’d prepaid through, isn’t a site they work with. She stayed calm and professional, spoke with her manager, and guided us through calling for a refund. She couldn’t promise anything, but her inside knowledge was really helpful. We’re staying at the hotel again. Freda and I recommend calling the hotel to book, since it worked out cheaper for us and gave us a guaranteed reservation, lol. They speak English and Spanish.
