Hotel Kavia Plus Cancun

The rooms were fine, and it was nice having a pool and terrace with lots of sun. I wasn’t fully convinced about the cleanliness, though, and the room was missing some odd things, like drawers, bedside lights, and a hairdryer.

The staff were really friendly, and breakfast at the restaurant was good. The rooftop pool has an amazing view, although it looked bigger in the photos. My room started to smell when it got humid, like the air wasn’t circulating. Keeping the AC on cold took the odor away.

We had a very pleasant stay and were happy with our room’s balcony and street view. The room was really clean, and they changed the towels and bedding every day. Room service, the front desk, and restaurant staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty, though the same every day. The main drawbacks were the lack of shelves, a cabinet, or a wardrobe, so we had to use the second bed for our clothes. You also have to borrow a hairdryer from the front desk and leave your ID or driving licence in exchange. The rest of the stay was really good. I’d recommend the hotel and come back.

The hotel was well located and within walking distance of most places, but the room was far below standard. We were disappointed during our two-night stay. Little black flies were everywhere, and the sink stayed clogged. There was paper in the sink opening, shown in the photo, covering where the flies were coming in through the plumbing. The staff were nice, but the lack of cleanliness means I won’t stay here again, and others may feel the same. The bed was comfortable, but the pillow and sheets had stains in several places. I’m sure they were cleaned before we arrived, but stained linens shouldn’t be used for paying guests. I’d avoid this hotel until they maintain proper standards.
