The room and setting were highlights for us: we had a comfortable bed and balcony looking over the marina, and the hotel feels modern, with ocean-inspired decor and great sunset views. It's in the quieter, upscale Puerto Cancun area, away from the busy center of the Hotel Zone, and connects directly to Marina Puerto Cancun mall for shopping and plenty of places to eat. Kaajal's lobby breakfast buffet stood out, with Western and local choices, pulled beef, omelets, juices, breads, and pastries. We also appreciated the pool, well-equipped fitness center, spa, and access to the private beach club. The staff were genuinely welcoming throughout our stay. A couple of things could be better. Smoke from the neighbor's balcony came into ours, so I hope they enforce the smoke-free policy more firmly. The hallway on our floor also smelled musty, and a fan ran constantly and made some noise.

Our February 2026 stay was a real pleasure. Karen and Monserrat at reception recognized our Bonvoy elite status and upgraded us at no charge to a lovely suite with a great marina view. At the restaurant, Octavio and Claudio were attentive and professional. Thanks to all four for making us feel looked after.

As a Titanium loyalty member, I got a sweet upgrade, and that alone makes me recommend this hotel. It's a phenomenal place, and they partner with a beach club too. I wasn't told about a lounge, so I'm not sure whether they have one, but the hotel itself was great.

I came away feeling this was a five-star failure, with basic service problems and a frightening safety issue. I would strongly advise against booking the Renaissance Cancún. The glowing ratings on Expedia and elsewhere seemed completely at odds with my experience, and I feel the property's polished image hides serious shortcomings. The worst part happened after staff gave my wife, our six-year-old daughter, and me directions to what we understood was the hotel's beach club. Because they didn't know their own shuttle route, they sent us instead to a deserted, poorly maintained beach. There were clear crocodile warning signs there. Directing a family with a young child to that remote, hazardous spot felt like a serious failure of care and left us terrified. Getting to the hotel was frustrating too. There was no airport pickup or drop-off, and I paid CAD100 for a ride from the airport, only about 25 minutes away. I expected that basic convenience at this price. The front desk and concierge also seemed unable to explain the hotel's own services or reliably point us to the beach club the shuttle was meant to serve. For me, these were more than small disappointments: the logistics were poor, and the bad directions put our family's safety at risk. Save your money and choose somewhere else in Cancún.

The rooms were clean and modern, and we had a nice balcony view. The hotel is connected to a mall with plenty of good shops and restaurants. I'd come back next time!
