Hotel Riu Dunamar - All Inclusive

Rey and Christian kept the entertainment lively all week, and the water aerobics and events were a lot of fun. Erik, who served us through most of the trip, was friendly and consistently attentive. The rest of the team, from the bar staff to housekeeping, helped make the stay memorable. The pools and beach were major highlights, and the resort was clean, active, and well looked after. I also appreciated how easily the front desk moved me when I wasn't happy with my original room type. Food was just okay. There were plenty of buffet choices, but fewer à la carte restaurants, and the meals could have had more flavor. More variety and stronger à la carte options would improve things. This was my first all-inclusive, and RIU Dunamar was a good, more affordable choice with solid amenities. If avoiding kids is important, I'd spend more for an adults-only resort. That's my plan next time. For a first all-inclusive trip, though, I'd recommend this place.

There are iguanas all over, which is pretty cool, and several pools, including adults-only ones. The slide area is fun for kids and adults, especially the red slide on the adults' side. Riuland is a lively kids club, with nice teachers and fun activities. The food and drinks were good. Specialty restaurants don't take reservations, so get there on time if you want to eat at one. For Isla Mujers, I'd recommend taking an Uber to the Ultramar ferry. It costs about 11 to 15 dollars, and the ride to the island takes 15 minutes. The beach there was okay, but there was a lot of seaweed and I didn't like that.

Luis by the pool was so attentive and nice, and service everywhere we went was great. Everything was kept clean, and the kids had a blast in the waterpark area. We liked being a bit away from everything, and we'd definitely come back. Our room had a beautiful ocean view, and we could always find something we liked to eat. The specialty restaurants were a little underwhelming, though. The Italian was the best one.

The sunrises were outstanding, and each morning looked different. We also had a great time renting jet skis on a day with big waves. We booked two off-site excursions with Scuba Caribe and worked with Ricardo. I'd book both trips again and work with him again. My family had a really good stay. The staff were friendly, and the rooms and grounds were very clean. Everything seemed organized and well run. We chose the location for its value, and for us it was a five-out-of-five experience. Restaurant food fell short of what we expected, although we enjoyed the buffet meals and felt the buffet met our expectations.
