Xoza Hotel Urban Escape

The stay was a huge disappointment, and the staff were horrible. We had a rental car, but although the listing showed garage parking, the desk guy said they had no access to it and we had to park in front of the hotel. The room was much smaller than the pictures. The AC breaker was off, the TV wasn't plugged in or set up, and there were no instructions for its two remotes. There were no towels when we arrived. When I asked at the desk, the guy asked why we hadn't brought our own and seemed annoyed about having to look for them. The booking description promised daily housekeeping, but we stayed six days and no one came. They provided only a few days' worth of toilet paper and no soap, and told us to bring our own when we asked. For hours, workers made a lot of noise in the hallway while carrying beds up and down. The elevator barely fits two people and made strange sounds. The water never got hot enough, or they would just turn it off. There wasn't actual security, just a guy sleeping on the lobby couch. Do not recommend.

A good option for a few days, with reasonable value for the money. It's a new hotel in a convenient spot for getting to the city center or beach, with friendly, helpful staff who speak excellent English. Erick was especially helpful. The rooms are fine and cozy, though nothing fancy, and there's no wardrobe. Towels could be changed more often. There are some good restaurants nearby. We didn't have a car, so I can't comment on parking.

The location felt a little sketchy, with an abandoned place next door, though there's a gas station across the street. It was expensive, but worth it for a tourist. The lobby has comfy couches, and while there's no food service, there's a vending machine. The room was amazing, and the cleaning staff folded the towels into animals!

I felt really safe here the whole time, including walking back at night. It's tidy and clean, close enough to walk to the action, and good value for money. The location also makes it easy to take an Uber around as a tourist or walk to the Centro. There's a great local breakfast place five minutes away, Lonchería El Pocito. It was my first trip to Cancun, and I wanted to stay in the city to get to know the local culture and people. I especially appreciated chatting with the staff. Erick was very helpful with ideas and local insight, and I really valued his honest friendliness. Everyone speaks English, and the room was just what I wanted, with a nice bathroom, AC, and a comfortable, clean bed. Great for a few days. For a longer stay, I'd want more wardrobe space.
