The room was in such poor shape that I wouldn't go back. The bed felt like I might fall off onto the floor, and the air conditioning didn't work. Cleanliness was also a big concern; I couldn't tell how often or how well they cleaned. When we arrived, they didn't have the room key and took ages to bring it. I don't understand why they didn't offer a different room. It's unacceptable to rent rooms with facilities like this.

A good-value place in a central spot. Several people can share a room, and there's air conditioning.

A nice place to unwind after work or while visiting, with friendly staff who pay attention to what you need. Some rooms have a terrace, great for coffee and a bit of relaxation. The location makes the reasonable price feel fair. Ask for daily cleaning, since they won't enter your room unless you request it. The facilities are generally good, though the hotel's age shows in a few minor issues that didn't affect my stay.

The main downside for me was not getting a receipt or any kind of voucher after paying, even when I asked. The location is excellent, close to the attractions, and the rooms are cozy and affordable. I liked the balconies and the lovely view, along with the decorative touches. There's hot and cold water and complimentary toiletries, though the TV setup could be better. Still, you're in Catemaco to enjoy the place, not watch TV. Several people, seemingly a family, work there, and any of them might take your payment. It's a simple but quality hostel.
