We had a great couple of nights in the Tapir Suite, and would definitely return. The grounds were lush and well kept, with a great pool and beach area. The food and drinks were very good, and we loved the music. Everyone was friendly and attentive, with service that was mostly excellent. At the beach loungers, though, staff didn't check on us often, and a few times we had to go to the food counter to ask for drinks. Our second floor room looked out over the ocean and sunsets. It was spacious, with a very comfortable king bed and powerful A/C. It was undoubtedly the nicest hotel in town. We worried about dinner because the website said the kitchen closed at 6:30pm and there aren't many dining options in town. During our stay, though, the restaurant stayed open until 9pm every night. The room had a coffee machine but no capsules. When we asked, we were told those were only included in the more expensive package with breakfast, which seemed a little odd.

I came away with a bad impression and wouldn't return. For somewhere that gets so much praise, Totem Beach Club felt inconvenient and not very relaxing. It's quite a distance from Mérida, so I was hoping for an easy, restful visit once we got there. The beach pass cost 350 for adults and 150 for kids, with a towel included. Parking is in a lot across the street. After ordering food and drinks, I went to rest on the beach, but a waiter woke me and said eating there wasn't allowed and I had to return to the restaurant area. The abrupt interruption spoiled a peaceful afternoon.

We had such a lovely stay in this gorgeous, peaceful, boho chic place. The food was superb, especially the delicious Tostado de Atun, and the complimentary breakfast was fantastic. It came with juice, cappuccino’s, a beautiful bowl of fresh fruit, and whichever menu item you fancied, made to order. Service was friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

We spent a few completely peaceful, relaxing days at Totem. The facilities were spotless, the room was amazing, comfortable, and fully equipped, and breakfast was delicious. Service was the kindest and most attentive we've ever experienced, with everyone so dedicated to meeting our expectations. We're grateful to Angela for all her help. Her recommendations were essential in Celestin and during the rest of our trip, and she helped us plan our itinerary and route to discover the best places in Yucatan.

The place and its facilities are beautiful, and the staff are super friendly and attentive. I wasn't too keen on the beach spot because it's a bit hard on the feet. The only bad thing was all the trash around outside the hotel and club.
