This was our second visit, and both times we ran into the same mess. We booked and paid a 50% deposit, but on arrival they said our reservation wasn't showing up. They had no rooms available, while rooms they did have were being held for someone who hadn't arrived. They insisted they'd honor our reservation because we'd paid 100%. If they expect the full amount up front, they should tell people; we'd have gladly paid it. The rooms they gave us were completely different from what we booked, and they smelled bad and were dirty. We got moved to another room, which is why we stayed, but we're definitely not coming back. I wouldn't recommend the place unless you have another place lined up. The people you book with don't show up in person. They leave it to a receptionist who doesn't know about your reservation, what to do, or what to say. They offered to place us in different hotels at a discount, but that wasn't a proper fix, and they kept changing their solution. We took our money and left. I'd look elsewhere 🫶🏼

Teresita was so kind and welcoming, and the service was spectacular. The hotel was comfortable, with a pool, and the people in town were friendly. There's a cute café next door too, with delicious coffee made with so much love. The beach is right there, and weekdays are quiet. Chacala is beautiful, everything was wonderful, and I'm very happy with the stay and the company. 100% recommended. I'd come back and stay here again without thinking twice. Thank you! :)

I had a really bad experience when I stayed in July, so I can't recommend this hotel. The pool was super dirty, and there were no refrigerators or TVs in the rooms, something they didn't tell us until we arrived. They didn't change the sheets when cleaning, and there was no water, so if you needed to use the bathroom you had to use the pool. Some rooms smelled strongly of damp. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The rooms themselves were comfortable, with hot and cold water, a terrace, grills, and a pool. But the service was disappointing. We'd booked a month ahead and paid the deposit, only to get a whole story on the day we arrived: the rooms weren't ready. They refunded us and said the rooms would be available the next day after 2 PM. We came after 2 to avoid pressuring them and make sure we'd get the rooms, but they still didn't have two of the rooms they were supposed to provide. Another headache.

Teresita, the hostess and owner, is incredibly kind and friendly, and the house is lovely and well located. The rooms are practical, though the beds are extremely hard. My favorite part was the terrace, where you can relax with music, a drink, or a bite to eat and enjoy the beautiful ocean view. There are hammocks, though we had to adjust them because they were too low and one was broken. There's a grill, but you bring your own charcoal, plus a laundry area and board games they lend out. It could use a little attention to details like that broken hammock, but it's a very pleasant place and I'd definitely return. They also offer rooms with a kitchenette, and pets are allowed.
