The dorm sheets were dirty, and behind the wall beside my bed were the external air conditioning units from another room. People in the parking lot outside and taxi drivers waiting at the ADO across the street talked and laughed loudly in the middle of the night. I used Google Translate to ask reception what temperature the air conditioning was set to, just to check it wouldn’t be too cold. After half an hour of back and forth, she still hadn’t answered whether reception or a guest had set it. She showed me some Chinese text, first on the original and then the translation, saying something would get hurt and wouldn’t look good. It was completely crazy. Then she said the dorm wasn’t available because a guy was already there. I had to show her on Hostelworld that it was a mixed dorm and available. Luckily, another guest spoke English and Spanish and backed me up against her strange explanations. I’ve stayed in too many hostels to let an irresponsible receptionist mess me around. It was late, though, otherwise I wouldn’t have stayed at all.

The staff were friendly, and check-in is available 24 hours. The hostel is seconds from the ADO bus station. I stayed in the six-bed dorm with a separate bathroom, and it was very clean. The air conditioning worked well, the mattresses were comfortable, and there were lockers and plenty of room for bags. The towels were huge and the shower had great pressure. I’d definitely stay again.

This was a great place to rest after a long bus ride, right next to the ADO bus terminal. Everything in the hostel was clean and organized. The staff were helpful and spoke English well, answering all my questions.

Right next to the ADO station, this was an easy place to reach on foot no matter what time you arrive. I wanted a quiet night to recover after too much drinking and partying while traveling around Mexico, before crossing into Belize. The hostel staff were helpful, reception is open 24 hours, and everything was very clean. If you’re backpacking and heading to Caye caulker island or San perdo in Belize, it’s a good place to slow down for a night.

A great hostel in an authentic Mexican city, the state capital. It’s close to the National Myan Museum, and right by the bus station, so taxis are cheap, they should cost only 30 pesos. The place is clean, new, spacious, and has a nice washroom. It’s small, some of the staff don’t speak English, and the lockers are small.
