Costa Mar

I was driving past and saw MX$350 on the front door. What does that price mean? It was July, in the middle of summer, and most other bookings were full. Is MX$350 really the nightly rate, or is it bait for something?

The staff are very nice, and the hotel is clean and comfortable. It’s only 1.5 blocks from the beach, with restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Rooms are basic, with no microwave or fridge, but they’re comfortable and clean. They also offer a discount for weekly stays.

We stayed one night and found the room nice and clean, with good service from friendly staff who helped with whatever we needed. It’s a motel, so expect to see couples coming and going. You can walk to the beach, though the malecon is under construction right now, so you may have to go around. There’s no air conditioning or heater because of the local weather, but they’ll give you an extra blanket if you need one. They still use a key for the room.

We got a two queen bed room for my small family of four yesterday and paid 590.00 MXN, about 35.00 USD. It was affordable, cozy, modern, and CLEAN, and the staff were really nice. No bugs either. The only drawbacks were that the shower has no curtain, so water got around the bathroom a bit, and the carpet might need cleaning. No big deal if you’re not OCD. We’ll be back!
