Christian and Lety made the stay for us. They were so kind, attentive, and welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure we were well looked after. The whole team gave us wonderful service. The property is gorgeous, with a great atmosphere and beautiful facilities that are clearly well cared for. I’d happily recommend the hotel for a great stay, and I’ll be back soon.

The food was fresh and full of flavor, and the service was excellent the whole time. Hotel Montevalle also has such beautiful, peaceful grounds, thoughtfully laid out to make it easy to relax. I had an amazing stay.

The people here really made the visit memorable. Everyone working there was kind, friendly, and accommodating, and the place itself is so peaceful that it invites you to stop and reflect. We planned to leave, started packing, then decided to stay another day. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend MonteValle in Valle de Guadalupe, about two hours from the San Diego border, with a beautiful drive along the coast. We came in late October. It’s in Valle de Guadalupe, about an hour and a half south of Rosarito. This is definitely a health and wellness resort. There are full spa amenities, including a holistic treatment center for detox, relaxation, and cleansing. The treatment has five stations that focus on areas of concern or inflammation. I recommend trying it even if holistic treatments aren’t usually your thing. We did that, then a full body massage, with soft, medium, or firm pressure depending on what you need. I don’t get massages often, but the whole experience blew me away. It takes about three hours from start to finish. Showers and lockers are available afterward. One thing we didn’t know is that you don’t wear a robe during the holistic treatment, so you might want to wear a sports bra and boxers, or whatever you’re comfortable being seen in around strangers. The grounds are gorgeous and meticulously kept, with lavender and olive trees everywhere. The pool area is inviting, and there’s so much attention to detail. At the entrance gate, someone greets you and escorts you to the main parking area. The property coordinator checks you in, then takes you on a golf cart tour. The welcome bottle of wine is your choice of rosé or red. The cabins are comfortable, with a bit of a bohemian feel, and have full amenities and a comfortable bed. The restaurant is lovely too. We loved the very fresh tuna aguachile. The skirt steak with nopales was full of flavor and had a clean taste. We had Palomas, which were very good. Breakfast was outstanding: birria, waffles, and an omelet with fresh bacon and monterey, along with a pitcher of mimosas and a green juice made with spinach, celery, nopales, and fresh orange juice. There are toll roads on the drive. I think there were four, and as of October 28, 2025, they cost $2.60 USD for cars, so bring some cash or change.

That restaurant view is spectacular, and the pool is great. There’s also a nice yoga room, spa services, mini golf, tennis courts, and inviting bonfire spots for the evening. The spa seemed pricey, and I wasn’t sure about the quality. It’s a place with real potential, but it still feels like the hotel is getting established. The breakfast costs extra on top of an already high room price. It didn’t meet expectations or feel worth the cost, and the restaurant was often empty. The soap advertised as artesanal definitely didn’t seem to contain what was promised.

We ended up staying longer than planned because Montevalle felt like a sanctuary. It’s designed to connect you with nature and spirit, and we found it a real treasure. We came for a New Year’s wellness getaway, focused on self-healing and getting ready for the year, and couldn’t have picked a better place. The whole stay exceeded our expectations. The property is spacious and beautifully designed, set on native lands among the distinctive rock formations of Valle de Guadalupe. Karina, the concierge host, greeted us, spoke perfect English, took our luggage to our spacious, contemporary villa, and gave us excellent service throughout. Our spa day included more than five treatment therapies before a skilled and excellent massage. There’s a yoga and meditation Shala, steam rooms, an outdoor Jacuzzi and pool, private seating with fireplaces, a meditation labyrinth, stone walking paths, a scenic lake, lavender fields, and beautiful stonework throughout. The mountain Vista restaurant is close to the villas, with delicious organic food and spectacular valley views.
