The breakfast on our terrace was delicious: coffee, fresh fruit, juice, pastries, and eggs made to order. We were treated like royalty. Leobardo and Lourdes were wonderful hosts, even though we worried we’d disturbed them when we came back late from dinner. Leobardo moved our car to a secure lot, with parking included in the room cost, and Lourdes got us a bottle of wine. They live on-site and assured us everything was fine. We slept with the window and terrace door open because our room was so quiet. In a city, we’re used to barking dogs, loud cars, and vendors, and places often suggest earplugs, but none were needed here. We also walked to and from the Centro late at night and felt the street and area were very safe. Our many trips around Mexico, including thousands of miles driving, and our time with its warm, friendly people have been nothing like what the media portrays. The room with its private terrace was beautiful, with art, antiques, and a comfy queen bed. The large shower had amazing water pressure, and the amenities, including shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, a shower cap, and a sewing kit, felt thoughtfully chosen. The common areas were inviting too. From more than a block away, the well-kept exterior caught our eye, with its luminous blue paint and beautiful door. A staff member greeted us warmly when we rang the bell. Mesón Sacristía de la Soledad has become one of the most comfortable, welcoming, and beautiful places we’ve booked on Airbnb. Leobardo and Lourdes were helpful from our first online conversations. They haven’t been on Airbnb very long and have few reviews, and while I usually rely on reviews on Airbnb and Trip Advisor, something in Leobardo’s listing made me think we’d enjoy the stay. We’d thought of Puebla as a convenient overnight stop between Morelia and Oaxaca, and had always stayed at the Holiday Inn. After one night here, we’re planning to spend several nights in Puebla on our return. The main plaza is an incredibly gorgeous, very short walk away. We’ll definitely come back to Mesón Sacristía de la Soledad and stay with Leobardo and Lourdes.

The family running this lovely place were as helpful as could be. The rooms are really comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Puebla is a beautiful city for a weekend away, and I’d recommend staying here without hesitation.

The suite is roomy, comfortable, and stylish, and the whole house has a warm, intimate feel. The house is beautiful, with a garden that’s well cared for. Staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Breakfast had a family-friendly atmosphere, and parking was included.

You can find hotels at this price or higher, but they don’t have the same warmth and good taste. The rooms are beautiful, the owners are lovely, and the service is excellent. For me, this is the best place to stay in Puebla.

Hospitality is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable with nice decor. The building is more than 300 years old. There’s no heating, so spring or summer is the best time to visit.
