Hotel Santa Fe Chignahuapan

Chignahuapan is beautiful, and the people are so friendly. The hotel is close to the town center, the illuminated village, and the lagoon, with reasonable prices. At reception, Angel welcomed us warmly and stayed attentive to what we needed throughout our visit. There's also a restaurant and café open 24 hours. One thing, it gets very cold, so definitely bring an extra jacket.

The house seems to have been converted into a hotel, and the rooms have poor ventilation, especially the bathrooms. The exhaust fan is so loud it can keep people awake. You can also hear outdoor noise and people chatting in the living and dining rooms from your room. Some of the towels are very thin and frayed. Parking is a garage where cars are squeezed in beside one another, not proper parking. If your car is at the back, you may have to wake someone at an odd hour to get out, or find yourself blocked in.

Ángel was friendly and helpful, and they offer food around the clock. The hotel is just one block from the illuminated village, which is a great location. We stayed when it was quite cold, around 1°C, but the place was warm and comfortable. Excellent in every way, highly recommended.

The room was in perfect shape, Wi-Fi worked without a problem, and we had hot water, which mattered most to us. The man who helped us was really friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent.
