Hotel Pelicano

Pablo made our stay during Hurricane Grace feel safe and manageable. He met us at the station, kept us updated after the power had been out for a day and information wasn't getting out of Chiquila, and made sure we were comfortable and knew what was going on. His service was the best I've had at a hotel anywhere. He was generous enough to help us get the kitchen going so we could make the ramen soup we'd bought at the tienda. The room was clean, the bed was really comfortable, and the shower had the strongest water pressure I've come across in Mexico. I was glad to be in Chiquila!

The coffee wasn't good, and the food didn't stand out. We only chose to sit in the restaurant because the neighbors were playing loud music, though honestly, sitting there was the better option. I'd rather have been somewhere else.

The little pool is a nice touch, and the rooms are nice as well. The staff were honest, kind, and helpful.

A good, inexpensive place to stay if you get to the area late in the afternoon before heading to Holbox. Why spend more on Holbox for that kind of stop?
