Las Iglesias by OYO Rooms

The staff were nice, but the hotel feels old. There’s no air conditioning, and we only had two electrical outlets.

The room was in the middle of the hall, near the central stairwell, and a loud speaker by the entrance played bad 90s songs from 8 a.m. until almost 10 p.m. every day. The photos are misleading, so I’d avoid this place. We booked because the listing said there was air conditioning, but there wasn’t any, just two small windows. The room was dated, run down, and dirty. The floors and table surfaces were filthy, and the shower sprayed water everywhere, leaving the floor soaked. Housekeepers even left an envelope on the table asking for a tip, though the room was never clean.

The kids had a lot of fun, especially in the pool, which we used every day. The location was excellent, and the weekend brunch buffet was busy with happy diners. Breakfast cost more than our budget allowed. We didn’t eat there, but our family liked the live violin music and the kids’ jump house, a classy touch. My wife somehow booked our room for around 40% below the regular price. At the usual rate, I wouldn’t have considered it a five-star value.

The people were nice, but the restaurant was awful, both the food and the service. I picked this hotel because it was the only one with three beds. There was no air conditioning, and despite having a fan, it was far too hot.
