The location is excellent, and the rooms do the job, aside from a few issues. Some of the air conditioners don’t cool properly. If you’re going to El Carmen for work, I’d recommend renting one of the 500-peso rooms. This place is popular for casual encounters, and the single rooms with just one double bed are pretty worn out. Some even have holes in the middle of the bed.

It’s a comfortable, very colonial-style place in an excellent spot. Everything is nearby, from places to eat and banks to churches. The boardwalk is also very clean and comfortable, ideal for a stroll.

The staff were friendly and efficient during my two-day stay, and the air conditioning worked well. The beds were hard. It’s a budget hotel with basic amenities, well located and suited to business travelers or people without high expectations.
