Hotel Plaza Mazari

The air conditioning didn't work. The staff were a nightmare, and management seemed even worse.

The food service was extremely slow, and although the place has a nice pool, I wouldn't recommend staying here. Their rules are so strict they treat you like children and seem to do everything possible to make guests want to leave this otherwise beautiful hotel. They won't let you keep the air conditioning controller in your room. Staff set it to 23 and take the controller away, so you can't adjust it yourself. There's also a limit of four beers per person per day.

The key came on a wooden board, and I was told I couldn't take it off the property. I had to leave it at reception whenever I went out. I was traveling alone but got a room with three beds, a single, a queen, and a king. It was clean, but the place felt strange, old, and shabby. The tile-floored room had a wooden chair, a folding table with a tablecloth, a built-in vanity with a mirror, and another countertop and mirror in the bathroom. The towels had gray stains, and the old bedspreads were ugly. The mattress I slept on was cheap, hard, and old. Only sheet curtains covered the windows, and lots of light came in around the door frame. The outlet by the bed was coming out of the wall, so I had to prop it up with my clothes to keep plugs in. They kept the air conditioning remote, set the temperature, then left. If I wanted a change, I had to call reception and ask someone to come back. Most cable channels were fuzzy with static. I think the room was about $27usd.

We stayed there for a second time, and it wasn't pleasant. The floor hadn't been swept, the phone and an electrical outlet didn't work, and the room smelled of chemicals. Since the phone was out, my husband had to go to the office. A girl came back with him carrying a bottle of freshner, and all she did was spray the room to cover the smell. We won't stay there again.
