City Express by Marriott Ciudad Juarez

The service here really disappointed us. We got there at 2:15 PM and were told the hotel was full and they’d only just started cleaning rooms. We asked about checking in early and said we’d pay for an extra night if that was needed. We were in a hurry and asked them to let us know as soon as a room opened up. The posted check-in time was 3:00 PM, so we went back to the desk then. The manager had left to inspect the rooms. We were told she had to inspect every room and couldn’t just check ours first so we could get in. Since they knew we’d been waiting, it seemed like the inspections could have been done sooner, so we could enter at the time posted. We waited another 20 minutes before getting into our room. At 8:00 AM Saturday, someone working on a door down the hall was banging loudly and playing music from their phone. I went to call the front desk, then realized the phone was just decoration and wasn’t connected to anything. We went out that day and left a “Do Not Disturb” sign, but staff came in and cleaned anyway. They left one 250 ML bottle of water for two people, and no water had been provided when we checked in. The vending machine was another letdown: it’s old and only takes bills with old designs that are out of circulation, so it’s decoration too.
