Los Monteros

I stayed here on the way to Mexico City and again on my return home. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, the air conditioning fantastic, and the staff friendly. The downside was people in the hall making noise all night, playing really loud music and sounding drunk when they talked. Even so, it was good value for the money.

The central location and very reasonable rates were a bonus, and the room was comfortable. The hotel has lovely original interior courtyards. We were traveling on motorcycles, and the manager insisted we bring them inside overnight for extra security. He went out of his way to help, even taking me to a local place to get my shoes mended. The staff were very friendly.

My father has stayed here for decades and knew the original owners. General manager Francisco and the staff are wonderful, kind, and caring. This is the place to experience real Mexican hospitality.

The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a safe, central hotel in what’s otherwise a pretty rough part of Mexico. If you’re staying in Victoria, it’s a great choice.
