We paid 110 euros for two nights. It’s the closest place to Calakmul reserve, and the holiday home and breakfast were reasonably priced. Dinner choices are limited, but the food was tasty and cheap. The owner was kind, if a little rustic, and the AC worked fine. We stayed two nights. There had apparently been noise from nearby construction, but that’s finished now. Bring mosquito protection.

The rooms were very clean, with private bathrooms, and parking right outside. This is a countryside stay, and it’s perfectly placed for visiting the Calakmul Archeological site. The hardworking family welcomed us, and there’s a restaurant on the property with really tasty food. We got a very good rate by booking directly with the owner instead of using an online platform, and breakfast was included.

We chose this hotel mainly because it’s close to the temples, even though it’s in the middle of nowhere. There was no free pickup from the Tren Maya station. The room and bathroom were dirty, probably because of the heavy rain that day, and I wish there’d been something to clean up with, or at least a shower mat. There was no hot water. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, but felt like we were disturbing the family because they were eating when we arrived.

Breakfast was included in the rate we paid. The cabins were clean and spacious, a good place to spend the night before going to the Calakmul ruins. The town is tiny, so don’t expect much there. The family who run the cabins offer dinner, though the choices are limited.

For 50 euro for one night, this felt far too expensive. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It was 36-40 degrees when we visited, and although I saw a fan in the pictures and thought it would be enough, the mosquito net somehow stopped the air from reaching us. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly either. It smelled like someone had thrown up on the toilet, and there were stains left by previous visitors.
