The main disappointment was the pools: they were often dirty with leaves and sand, and the hot tub was grimy, poorly maintained, and didn't work. That was a real letdown because the hot tub was a main reason I picked this hotel. Room 2019, a Superior Ocean View King Double Room, was the best in the hotel in my opinion. It's on the top floor with panoramic views of the ocean and the majestic cruise ships at the International Cruise Port. Rooms below the fifth floor don't see the ocean, but look out onto lovely gardens and palms. The seafood restaurant on the beach serves lunch from 1 to 4, with clam chowder, fish of the day, giant grilled shrimp, and fish or shrimp tacos. Breakfast was really good, and dinner had plenty of tasty variety, though dishes were sometimes cold. The Italian restaurant requires a reservation and wasn't good. For real Italian food, go into town to GUIDOS Italian Restaurant or Woodys Bar on the Town Square. There were lots of scheduled activities during the day, and the entertainment was nice. The resort itself is beautiful, with palm trees and waterfalls. I highly recommend it and will be back.

The beach was small and a little rocky, but full of fish. It's sheltered from the waves, so swimming felt safe even on wavy days. The resort has a local feel, with many guests from Mexico, and it's only a 10-minute ride into town for tourist areas or local shops and restaurants with more authentic Mexican food. This was our second visit to Grand Park, and likely won't be our last. It's a fairly small place that feels like home and never seemed overcrowded. The staff were fantastic. Maribel, who cleaned our room, arranged the kids' teddy bear and balloons as a fun surprise. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. We found lots of food choices, including Italian, Mexican, a dinner buffet, and fresh seafood at lunch. There's a Caffe for ice cream, coffee, cappuccinos, other caffeinated drinks, sandwiches, and pastries. They also put on special events with fresh fish or tacos almost every day. The entertainment team was a lot of fun, especially Edgar, who'd stop to play chess with the kids and always went above and beyond.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were okay, with hot water and good shower pressure. We tried to make the best of it, but the food was really bad and the options were very limited. As members, we got no perks here, so if you're hoping to use your membership benefits, choose another place. We wouldn't return.

A few of the pool bartenders were friendly and made good drinks, but we wouldn't go back. The resort looks old and worn, its walkways are uneven, and the beach area is tiny. The buffet was poor, and the snack bar food was too, with cold, soggy fries and pizza. One night the Italian restaurant was great, the next it wasn't. At the Mexican restaurant, bugs flew around and landed on the desserts set out for guests. When we told staff, they didn't seem to care. The entertainment was terrible, and our room's air conditioning was very loud.

The main drawback for us was the small beach, which filled up quickly. The fridge was also poorly stocked: by day three we had only two beers and some nonalcoholic drinks. The a la carte restaurants work first come, first served, and the Italian place, the most popular one, can mean a two-hour wait. It wasn't worth it. Still, this is one of the few all-inclusives I'd return to. Room service is available around the clock, the rooms and beach chairs are comfortable, and there are lots of pillows, just how I like them. The staff were friendly and seemed happy to be there. Everything was clean, room service was reliable, the Wi-Fi worked great, and the shower was hot with strong pressure. The Pescados restaurant had the best filet mignon I've ever had. There are elevators everywhere, a safe in the room, and you can walk into town.
