Hotel Casa Bahía Cozumel

You can walk to most places from here, though you'll need to go farther afield for some places outside town. The rooms are nice, the shower had good water pressure, and there are little kitchenettes with larger fridges. It's clean, and someone pleasant is always at the front desk. I paid a bit extra for an ocean view on the top floor, if possible. A great choice if you're trying to save some money.

Right in the middle of downtown, with just about everything in walking distance. At $50 USD a night, I don't think you could do better. The rooms are cleaned every day and left sparkling, and the staff are friendly. Each has a fridge, microwave, silverware, plates, cups, and its own air conditioner that you can set to your liking. Breakfast is top notch, but it's served at another hotel owned by the same people, about a block down the waterfront.

It's spacious, clean, and has kitchenettes, and I like the price and how close it is to the square, restaurants, and dive shop. I'm a scuba diver, and it has what I need for a great dive vacation. It's not a high end hotel, and there's no beach or pool. Some rooms have a view, so ask for one if that's important to you.

We booked Suites Bahia, but it was closed, and our reservation was moved to its sister hotel Casa Mexicana. We only heard about the change the day before we were due to arrive. You can still book Suites Bahia and Suites Colonial through booking sites or their own business website, even though both are currently closed. Casa Mexicana was fine, but we had booked a breakfast buffet at Suites Bahia. On our first morning, we were told the included breakfast here meant only fruit and toast, and anything else cost extra. The Suites Bahia booking would have included more. When we tried to discuss it at the front desk, they sent us to management, who happened not to be there. The location is decent, but the building design blocks much of the view. The pool is very small and in the lobby. Outside, you're on a busy street of shops, with shopkeepers hassling you to come in. Our second-floor Wi-Fi almost never worked, aside from a few times when we didn't even need it and noticed it was connected.
