Hotel Quinta Mision

The shower was tricky, either hot or cold, and hard to get to a steady temperature. The food was okay, though the staff were very friendly. The rooms are huge, around a thousand square feet each, and the hotel is only two stories high. It’s a beautiful place, with handmade furniture and heated floors. A real treat to stay here.

Such a charming place, I loved it. There were horse hitches outside every room, and they looked real rather than decorative. I never found out what kind of tree was outside my room, though, even after asking. I wish I’d taken pictures, but I was so tired each time I got back that I just wanted to crawl under the cozy blankets.

The apple cinnamon empanadas baked in the fire were a highlight, and the coffee was the best I had during my three week trip. The rooms were large and clean, and the service was first class. I wanted an authentic Mexican experience while in Mexico, and this hotel delivered that. It’s near the Main Street but not right on it, so it was quiet and comfortable. Save the Best Western hotel for back in the States.

There was no wifi in our rooms, and the staff were inattentive. We told them the TV remote needed batteries, but five hours passed before we had to go remind them ourselves. We also had $500USD stolen from our backpack. The day before, our driver Cesar told us things were safe in the car and watched us lock the backpack inside our larger suitcase. Two days later, we accidentally left the backpack in the car with him. When we got there and counted our money, $500 was missing.
