Hotel Arrecife Plus

We had a clean room, clean sheets and bathroom, and working AC, with some interesting decorations. It was a good place to rest, though you might hear other guests if your room is by the pool. The location was great, and a taxi to the nearest beach cost 35 pesos. The front desk suggested a nighttime Bioluminescence tour on the beach, which I can definitely recommend. After the beach, ask to use the open showers so you don’t track sand into the room. We’d booked one night in a room with two king beds for four people, and just asked at the front desk when we arrived. Getting a room was no problem. We could leave our bags there and explore until it was ready. Good value.

I was told by the owner that I’d get a refund for the unused nights through Travelocity / Expedia, but now he says there’ll be no refund. I’d checked in for a week and left after three days, when a group arrived and kids ran around, slammed doors, and screamed past 2 am. I asked the desk to do something about the noise and was brushed off. I found another place and got out of that dump. The owner is a big liar. No one speaks much English.

We’ve enjoyed our stay, and the staff are very friendly.

The pool is nice and the AC worked well enough. It was OK, and good value.
