Hotel Paseo

Horrible hotel.

The rooms have the basics and nothing else, but the service is good. It's an austere, very affordable hotel. I'd recommend it for four people traveling for business. At least one room has four beds.

I paid $580.00 for a room for two, but left after seeing it. It looked nothing like the Google photos and felt like a cheap motel. The room was tiny, barely leaving space to move around. There was a double bed, but I can't comment on it because I didn't use it. The toilet was in what looked like a closet, the shower sat beside the bed with only a curtain between them, and the sink was at the foot of the bed. There was air conditioning, though I didn't try it. The walls were paper-thin, so you could hear what was going on in other rooms. My room was on the fourth floor. The stairs were tiny and difficult to manage, especially if you have medium-sized suitcases. Parking was another problem: there are only two spaces, so they ask you to leave your car across the street, where it's very dark. I told reception I couldn't stay and asked if I could get my $580.00 back. They kindly connected me with the “administrator” or “manager,” I'm not sure which. After I explained what was wrong, they simply said, “the price says it all.” I thanked them for their time on the phone. As I was leaving, reception offered me a bigger room, but my wife was already disgusted with the place and didn't want to look at it. I found the place on Google and thought it would work for sleeping before continuing my trip in the morning, but it wasn't as advertised. I'd add $300 more for a room at a motel with better facilities for $150 more. Or, if you can get a room at the hotel next door, it's a thousand times better for a similar price.

The Wi-Fi signal was good, and the service was excellent. There's Roku TV instead of cable. It's recommended for small groups, which makes sense for the price, and Plaza Durango is just steps away for sightseeing.
