Tecnohotel San Benito Beach

We waited 40 minutes just to get a seat because they oversell tickets and don’t have enough places to sit. The beach was neglected and trashy, and the food was disappointing with hardly any real choices. Drinks tasted cheap and watered down. They advertise this as an all-inclusive resort, but it barely feels all-inclusive. We bought a day pass and it was a waste of our time and money. This place is trash!

The pools, beach club, and ocean are all right there, and the overall vibe is great. The rooms were clean, though borrowing an iron, hair dryer, or pool and beach towels meant leaving your ID at the front desk. Beds were passable, but the sheets and blankets could be better. With our large group, paying for food and drinks got confusing fast. Some days we could open a tab, other days we had to pay right away, and we couldn’t tell what had already been paid. The servers were unpredictable too, sometimes very helpful and other times it was a gamble whether an order would arrive. They need to be more consistent about payment. I’d recommend staying here!

The rooms open onto the pool area, which made it easy to keep an eye on the kids without too much noise. They’re spacious, the AC works well, and ours had a fridge, sink, and microwave. There are two pools at good depths for children, and the beach area is lovely and well furnished. The location is nice and relaxed, and it wasn’t crowded. Staff were great, the restaurant is on site and serves good food, and the price felt average. I’d stay again and recommend it. A few basics were missing from the room: no mugs or glasses, dishes or utensils, or dish soap, even though there was a sink, microwave, and fridge. There were no hair dryers, irons, or coffeemakers either. The sink barely trickled, the shower had very little cold water, and one bed was especially hard.

The food was average at best and pretty pricey for what it was. The waiters seemed to be doing their best, but didn’t have much training in food service, hospitality, waiting tables, or etiquette. They might have worked in construction before taking these jobs. It’s not a terrible place, just nothing to write home about. I’d hoped things would improve after the new management took over from former Tecnohotel, but they haven’t.
