The quiet is what makes this place feel magical. There were hardly any other people around, and the golf course was in great shape. I also really liked the food and the service. Getting here is the rough part: the road is in very bad condition, so you’ll probably need a rental car. Uber isn’t an option. The rooms are bare bones, just a bed and shower, with no fridge or Wi-Fi, though the main buildings do have Wi-Fi. A good spot to leave the city behind and enjoy the mountains and trees.

Being right in the forest makes this place fantastic. The cabins are comfortable, the food is good, and the golf course is very nice, if a little small. Staff are generally polite and the service is good, but they aren’t very attentive, and they seem to have an excuse for every activity. We asked about hiking to the waterfall, and were told it might rain and they’d need to find someone to take us. For the horseback riding tour, they said they had to find someone to bring the horses and didn’t think anyone would come for just one horse. We also asked about roasting marshmallows at the campfire, but were told no because more children might arrive and ask for some too. It was like that with everything. Activities are charged separately by the hotel and the person arranging them, so they get extremely expensive, 1,000 pesos for a hike. The hotel isn’t suitable for children under 4.
