Casa Las Almas - Adults Only

The pool has a fantastic view, and the rooms are new and clean. We loved the food Luigi freshly prepared, and Fernando and Luigi were amazing at organizing whatever we needed. Fernando was especially friendly and kind at any hour. The map location is accurate, though it is a bit of a walk into town. You can take the path, which the host accompanied us on the first time, or ask the staff to arrange scooters. The AC is brand new and worked perfectly for us. I don’t understand the negative comments from earlier reviewers. We’d definitely come back.

We liked it so much that we extended our stay from 3 nights to 6. Charlie, Luigi, and Chef Pepe looked after us wonderfully, with service as good as at grander hotels we’ve stayed in around the world. The hillside setting above Mazunte and San Augustinillo is stunning. Getting to Reception and the Pool Deck means climbing 80 steps, which is why I can’t give the location five stars. If you’re fit enough for the climb, it’s absolutely worth it. A car or scooter also makes getting to Mazunte easier.

It’s so peaceful up on the hill, and everyone working there made us feel at home. Luigi and Fernando were lovely. I’m sorry I can’t remember the chef’s name, but his breakfasts made our days. The food and drinks were delicious, the pool gorgeous, and the rooms spacious and beautiful with amazing views. Getting to town and the beaches takes a bit of a climb, but you can catch a camionetta or taxi. We had such a good time and already miss the place.

Fernando was the star of the place, kind, generous, attentive, and quick to handle every request. We had an incredible week. The casitas were luxurious and comfortable, and the infinity pool looks out over the Pacific. Meals made with simple local ingredients were extraordinary. The hotel feels just right for Mazunte. Its gate opens onto a rural path downhill to the main town, and the climb back gives you some exercise. After a long beach day, the pool is perfect relief. I’d love to keep this place a secret, but I also want them to thrive so I can return as often as possible. Full stars across the board.
