Hostal Roma Condesa

The bed was extremely comfortable, but the rest of the stay was wild. Jazz music started blasting at 9 am, and the bathrooms were filthy, old, and usually busy. The other guests were loud and weirdos. During my five days there, I didn't see a single staff member. It's the wild wild west. I really hope this saves some people from a horrible stay.

The people made this feel safe, friendly, clean, and cute. The staff were excellent, the rooftop adorable, and the neighborhood so cute, though for whatever reason I kept having trouble finding the place. I loved the pillow, and the food smelled yummy even though I didn't try any. When I visited, there was an older clientele; one woman in my dorm was younger, but she was staff. On a weeknight, we were all in bed before 1 am. It wasn't completely boring, but everyone was respectful. People who came in to dine also socialized, and one even helped me practice Spanish while I worked on the roof. A few things to know: watch out for the hot pipes along the wall on the stairs. The towels are a little dingy, and nearby construction is loud, though at least it started after 8. If you want to sit near a plug on the roof and stay out of the sun, get there earlier in the day. Thanks to one of the staff for helping me carry my luggage all the way to the top floor!

We stayed five nights with my family, and really enjoyed the roof terrace and the overall vibe. The room was beautifully decorated, very clean, and had amazing beds. Camilo gave us a warm welcome, showed us around, and provided all the information we could want. If I come back, this is the place!

The staff were friendly and always around to answer questions or suggest things to do nearby. The food was excellent too. Our room was clean and tidy, in a nice neighborhood with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and a metro station close by. I'll definitely check availability next time I visit.
