Hotel Boutique Valle de Guadalupe & Spa

A good place to get away and relax in Valle de Guadalupe. We enjoyed breakfast and a glass of wine by the pool, and catching Ray's. The food is priced right, as are the drinks, and the ambiance is just right, nice and quiet. The borrego, lamb, was delicious.

The breakfast was good, but the food otherwise was so-so for a place that feels overly expensive. The room upstairs was tiny, so be aware. There are restrictions on using the jacuzzi, and dogs ran around licking my girlfriend's legs, yuk. There was no sign pointing to the office. Stay somewhere else.

Around $400 was stolen from my room yesterday, and I told the hotel right away. Management wasn't on site until morning, when I reported what happened. They did an “internal” investigation. The cameras showed staff entering my room a few times over the weekend, but the money wasn't found. The manager told me to file a police report, but I had to catch my flight. In the end, I only got a canned response about the integrity of the staff, and nothing else was done. No accountability. Stay at your own risk.

We still had a good time, and it was convenient having everyone booked at the same location. A security guard spoke with us, suggested a nearby winery, and we enjoyed visiting it. On our first night we had an enjoyable dinner at a restaurant. We had expected something for Mexican Independence, but the hotel had no celebration. The TV didn't work, and the shower had weak water flow that made it hard to shower each morning. Some towels looked beige and thin from age, and one robe I used was stained. The porch cushions were dirty and stained too.
