We’ve stayed in three different rooms now, and each bed was clean and cozy. The cabins all have their own antique furniture and decor, and the showers are great. The place is spread over a spacious 200-acre property, with cabins tucked by grape fields and a little pine forest with a creek at the back. There are pretty succulent gardens and art around the cabins, plus an east-facing shaded hangout among the pines with hammocks, a picnic table, barbecue setup, benches, and views over vineyards and low mountains. Ask the owners for the key to the separate, locked kitchen cabin. It’s a peaceful escape from city life. We played music, drank wine, smoked, tossed a frisbee, watched the stars, and passed some time with Netflix on an iPad. There’s no TV, but the Wi-Fi works. Neighbors were around and friendly, mostly because we shared the parking lot, but we barely noticed them or even our own kids once we were in the cabins. Fernando and Annabella were wonderful hosts, thoughtful and welcoming. The drive in from Los Ángeles took us through wineries and grape fields in a sunny valley ringed by low rolling mountains. We came from the city to get away from it all, and their attention to detail really made the stay. There’s great wine, coffee, brunch, and restaurants just down the road, and La Bufadora isn’t far. Fernando can also take you to nearby hot springs for a fee. Watch the pricing when you book, since events, weekends, and last-minute reservations can affect it. Our first stay was a last-minute booking during a busy event weekend and cost more than the next couple of stays, which were very affordable for what was provided. We’ll be back!

The cabin was spotless and nicely decorated, and booking was easy. The owners pay attention to all the details. We had a great stay and will definitely return.

The location is quiet, secluded, and felt safe, right on Ruta del Vino. It made getting to nearby wineries easy, and Ensenada was about a 30-minute drive. We did have a hard time finding an ATM and quick breakfast options close by. Fernando and Anabella were lovely hosts. They welcomed us as their second visitors, gave us directions for the safest route from the border, and were there to greet us when we arrived. They told us about the property, where they used to run a restaurant, and about the Valle de Guadalupe. They also replied quickly to our questions by text all weekend. Muchas gracias Fernando and Anabella! This is a charming, quirky lodge for a Baja California wine country weekend, though it’s not a fancy hotel. The room is pretty standard, with a bed, bathroom, wardrobe, fans, and two chairs. There’s no TV or refrigerator, but we didn’t miss them much. Antiques give the room a rustic feel, a nice place to rest after a day of wine tasting and exploring the valley. We also got quite friendly with the many little frogs living on the grounds.

A lovely place to unwind away from the noisy city. Fernando is a really kind, friendly host, and the coffee shop next door is delicious.

A little place with a bit of magic.
