The staff were friendly and helpful, and on arrival they upgraded our room and left chocolate-covered strawberries for us. The room itself could use some touch-ups, and the windows really need cleaning. We’d booked a premium room for two nights for our anniversary, but only discovered after arriving that the premium-level lounge would be closed. There was no mention of this when we booked. I thought perhaps it was being renovated, but when we went to see it, it looked ready to use. When we asked why it was closed, all they said was that management had requested it. They suggested the restaurant instead. Rather than the small, intimate space with evening appetizers we expected, we got a ham and cheese sandwich with salad in the restaurant. Very disappointing. This should have been made clear before booking, since I wouldn’t have chosen the premium level.

The breakfast buffet had a good range, with Mexican favorites as well as American options. The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. There’s a restaurant, coffee shop, and bar inside, which made the stay convenient. It’s a very nice hotel near the Expo, around 45 minutes from the airport.

The whole experience was awful. I arrived at 9 pm after booking two weeks ahead, then waited two hours for a room. The front desk staff were unfriendly and ignored me until I finally spoke up. They also helped a woman who arrived after me before dealing with me. I really don’t know what their issue with me was. Was there some dress code or standard I didn’t meet? They had no problem taking my money, though. On top of everything, they charged my card twice, and I’m still trying to sort that out. Seeing another $500 charge made an already bad stay even worse.

This is a huge complex where you can feel like just another unit passing through. If you want a more personal stay, that may not be for you. They say there’s room service, but there’s no menu in the room. The amenities are great: a couple of restaurants and a bar in the building, plus a decent gym and swimming pool. It can be reasonably priced for what you get if you find a bargain. During the EXPO, prices shoot way up, and then I’d question whether the quality justifies the cost. It’s geared toward EXPO visitors.
