Hotel Lemon Green

Terrible experience. For $5,000 for three days, I wasn’t paying for a hostel, and the service my family and I got was awful. The place wasn’t clean, the beds were too stiff, the rooms were tiny, and there was so much noise. My car was hit in their parking lot, and they didn’t acknowledge the problem at all. I’d give this hotel zero stars if the rating system allowed it.

The hotel is right on the avenue across from the World Trade Center and 600 m from Expo Guadalajara, which was the standout for me. It’s calm and peaceful, with a good night’s rest in the beds. The internet worked, and the brightly lit common room they call the “restaurant” was a decent place to study or hang out. There are vending machines, but only a very small drink selection. I didn’t bring a car, though the parking looked good. Security seemed average, maybe 5/10. For a night, I’d stay again, but not for a week. It’s a mixed bag: cheap stained sheets and poor interactions with the hosts, but also an easy, low-cost base for traveling. You get what you pay for. It smells like MDF board as soon as you enter, almost like opening a huge box of cheap IKEA furniture. The wood resin smell was overwhelming. Maybe that’s because the place is new. It has nice modern features and was very clean, though some details got annoying. To turn on the lights, you have to put your door card into a wall slot, which is a headache when carrying things in and out every day. The HVAC uses a wireless remote that can also be tricky. There are LEDs everywhere, and the bathrooms were the worst for me, with a probably 7000K bluish tint.

The night was horrible. The AC was so noisy that we turned it off at 3 am, and noise from the other doors and rooms made sleep impossible. It was dirty, too. There should be a way to request a refund when you can’t sleep at all.
