Condominios Pilar

It’s so peaceful here, and we love it. There are birds everywhere, more than I can name, along with blue water, rugged mountains, and a beautiful white sandy beach covered in shells that’s great for walking. The sunsets are spectacular.

We had a super fun trip and really enjoyed it, though I’m not sure we’d stay in these same condos next time. The beds were okay, nothing amazing, and the Wi-Fi was there but so bad that most of the time it barely seemed worth using. Since our Mexico phone plan only gave us a certain amount of data per day, that was a headache. The fridge wasn’t working when we arrived. Maintenance said it would be handled the next day, and they brought a new one then, but left the old fridge against the kitchen wall, eating into the already limited space. There’s no central air either. The condo has about five window units, and each has to be adjusted to cool the place properly. It wasn’t a huge deal, though one thermostat for the whole condo would’ve been much nicer. I’d definitely go back to the San Carlos area.

I was very disappointed. The place felt unsanitary, unsafe, and overpriced. There was a hole in the door where the second lock should have been, leaving only the kind of lock usually used for bathrooms. Someone could have picked it easily and come in. There was no cell service or Wi-Fi either, so if anything happened, we’d have been in trouble. We raised these concerns with the owner, Jon, but he didn’t give us a full refund, and we had to go home after traveling five hours for nothing. The owner may have used the money we didn’t get back to fix the lock and other things. Don’t bother staying here. You can’t count on the owners to make the stay pleasant, and this owner doesn’t seem to know how to run a business. Beware.

The location was great, and the people and support staff were helpful. The place was well run and maintained.
