The New Year's Eve dinner was a mess. The manager and her daughters were also running the service, so there weren't enough staff. It was meant to be a buffet, but if you didn't arrive right at the start, there might not be enough food. Guests who had paid were unhappy, table reservations weren't honored, and a later-arriving family argued with staff over the food. A fight broke out, someone pulled a gun, and we felt so uncomfortable that we went back to our room without enjoying dinner. The cabin rooms weren't really cabins, and the service during our stay was poor. The TV remote didn't work, there was trash and other things left by previous guests, the internet was bad, and the fireplace had no firewood. They offered sticks, branches, and furniture pieces that burned too fast and didn't warm the room, so we got wood from nearby hotels. There were only two girls on staff, who seemed to be the manager's daughters, so service, especially cleaning, was limited. We had to ask for towels despite booking for a set number of people. In the large room, the attic had three beds tucked close to the ceiling, so you couldn't stand without hitting your head. At night, we could hear animals running over the roof tiles in the early morning. The shower curtain was strung on a wire, the sink tilted so things slid off, and there were no hooks or shelves for toiletries. In the shower, soap or shampoo had to go on the floor. There was an oven, kettle, electric grill, and pans, but the grill had to be lowered almost to the floor to plug in, and without a sink in the room it was impossible to wash the pans. I'd suggest finding somewhere else, or going in with very low expectations of the magical forest.

The online price for the 12-person New Year's cabin was 3500 pesos, but when I booked, they quoted 3900. The place called a cabin felt more like half a house, with two sofa beds, two bedrooms, and three mattresses in a kind of loft. The bedroom was cold, and instead of firewood they sent us a pile of furniture scraps. Cleaning was noticeably lacking, and service was somewhat disorganized. New Year's dinner was a disaster. They oversold the space, people fought over food, and the meal wasn't very good. It was called a buffet, but didn't really work like one. I'd only suggest staying a couple of nights. The pool is outside and cold, though they add a little hot water to make it usable.

The hot water never came on when we tried to shower, and the traffic from trucks and cars speeding by made it impossible to sleep. There's a TV, but it only gets one channel. Also, what they call cabins are just cabin-style rooms, and they should be clear about that instead of misleading people. We paid for four nights, stayed only one, and moved out early the next morning. They refunded half the stay, which I suppose is understandable, but they shouldn't advertise things as something they aren't. I wouldn't recommend it.
