Binniguenda Huatulco All Inclusive & Beach Club

The staff were the one bright spot, and I tipped everyone, but the property itself felt like a scam. We booked what was presented as an adults-only resort, but it isn’t. The sister hotel, where the pool is, was undergoing heavy construction, with metal banging and welding all day. There was no chance to relax. The photos online showed the sister property, not the actual hotel. When I asked to be moved to what I had paid for, they wanted another $3,500. That felt extremely dishonest and misleading. Our room had mold on the ceiling, a toilet that barely flushed, and a door lock that only worked maybe 20% of the time, even after several repairs. The food was terrible. Basic things like bacon, pico de gallo, and salsa weren’t available, so we ate breakfast and dinner elsewhere almost every day. Also, local banks don’t accept Interac, so bring cash.

The staff were caring, warm and fantastic, and getting to the beach was easy with the shuttle they provide. We stayed for 10 days, but our sleep was badly affected by noise outside the hotel's control. Every night, all seven nights of the week, a loud party bus pulled up in front from 7 to 11 pm. The bus lights shone into our room even with the shades drawn. The music thumped unbearably, the DJ/Driver shouted over a loudspeaker, and passengers screamed and yelled. We never got one good night's sleep. I do recommend the Binneguenda, but ask for a room that doesn't face the street.

The property was clean and well looked after. What makes this our favourite hotel in Hualtuco by far is the people working there. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and courteous, and they always did their best to make our stay feel special.

The one good thing was how kind and mostly helpful the Mexican people are. Otherwise, the all-inclusive food was poor at best, and there was no food or coffee before 7:30 am. The room smelled musty, and early risers shouldn't count on hot water in the morning. After we left a housekeeping tip, the housekeeper accused us of smoking in the room, though neither of us smokes. Huatulco's streets are full of garbage.
