Hotel D Abril

It's a basic, clean, comfortable little hotel right on one of the seven bays, with public parking beside it and the public beach just a two-minute walk away. There can be some hassle from people trying to get you to buy from the restaurants in front. Their tables belong to those restaurants, so you can't sit there unless you're ordering from them. Otherwise, you can sit on the beach, which is fine. It gets busy with lots of people toward the end of the day and on weekends.

A clean room with a comfortable, large bed in the king room, good AC, and lovely staff. The location is excellent, just steps from the beach and restaurants. There are coat hangers, too. It's a basic hotel, and that shows in what isn't provided: no safe, refrigerator, ice, blanket, or bedspread. The bathroom has no counter or shelf, so my toiletries were on the floor. There's no hairdryer, even at the front desk, and no exhaust fan. In the room, there are only two fluorescent ceiling lights and no lamp. The lock is a single, not very secure one that uses an actual key. The pool is in the middle of the rooms and gets very loud. The Wi-Fi connected but didn't let me do anything the whole time. Nobody here speaks any English at all, so I was glad I know some Spanish. The TV is in Spanish only, which may matter to some people, though it didn't bother me. Booking didn't seem to have passed along my reservation, and they couldn't find it at check-in. It took 30 minutes to sort out. Flor was very helpful, but I had to get through those 30 minutes with Spanish and hand gestures, so be aware of that. If you just need the basics and a clean room, this will do.

The hotel is simple and very close to the beach. There's a small pool, and breakfast was served right outside our door. The staff were okay, and we didn't have any problems.

The room was clean, thanks, but the bathroom had some issues and there was no Wi-Fi.
