Hotel OM Huatulco

There were too many problems for me to recommend this hotel. The hotel is run down, and its photos aren’t recent. The internet didn’t work, there was no hot water, and the afternoon receptionist was rude, more interested in watching TV on her phone than helping with hotel needs. They wouldn’t accept card payments even though they had a card reader on site. The pool wasn’t at the hotel. There’s an arrangement with the restaurant behind it, but you have to ask permission to use those facilities. The parking area looked like a garbage dump and wasn’t cleaned regularly. When I checked out, reception was unattended. Two other guests and I had to leave our keys on the counter because no one was there to receive them. They didn’t clean the room until I reminded them. The person on duty just said, “Well, tomorrow, because the cleaning lady isn’t here anymore.” We had a reservation for four, but they left only one towel. When I asked for more, the receptionist told me to wait until the other towels dried. Bad experience all around.

The hotel is in a very good location, but the fans, showers, and some lights need maintenance. The reception staff were rude and unhelpful. I wouldn’t recommend bringing your family, especially for a price that leaves much to be desired.

We left furious. I’ve never had a worse stay: they refused to refund my money and charged an excessive penalty. There were no services, and it felt like a cheap motel. The place had insects in the rooms and zero hygiene. It’s reprehensible and fraudulent to operate this way in a tourist area, and they should be sanctioned. I absolutely don’t recommend it. The photos of the property showed spaces that were actually in terrible condition. There was a damp and sewage smell, beds had only one sheet, the pillows were old, shower doors wouldn’t close, and there was no hot water. They provided just one roll of toilet paper and one towel. The AC was broken, and the pool was inaccessible because it was under repair. Truly awful.

The service was very bad, and they didn’t have any of the things they advertised. Hygiene was lacking, the pipes were very noisy, the TV wouldn’t turn on, and the air conditioner leaked. The pool wasn’t clean enough to use.
