City Express Plus by Marriott Ciudad de Mexico Interlomas

The bathroom was so small it was uncomfortable, and the room felt poorly maintained. The mini fridge made a lot of noise, some outlets didn’t work, and the TVs couldn’t run Netflix or Amazon Prime, so streaming wasn’t an option. My wife and I booked 7 nights, but there was barely anywhere to put our clothes, just a few hangers, so we had to keep everything in our luggage. After I complained, they charged us about $250 USD to move us to a “superior” room. It had pretty much the same setup, only with a sofa where we piled our clothes. For what you get, it’s extremely overpriced. A really disappointing stay, and I’d tell people to book somewhere else.

Breakfast was very basic, and we ran into problems throughout our stay. Their systems kept going down, with little explanation or control. We left the hotel and were told they had no system to print the foil or send an e-mail with the invoice/foil. Other people had the same key, too.

We waited more than an hour at the restaurant just to get soup. I had to cancel my second plate because I needed to leave, and they still wanted to charge me for it. The food service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Our room was almost two hours late, and when we finally got it, it was the wrong category, a downgrade. They still charged us the full price. It’s also unbelievably hard to find. I wouldn’t visit this place, no matter what.

The rooms weren’t clean: there was hair on the bed and the towels were stained. They also tried to charge us for an extra person who wasn’t there. A security guard checked the room and confirmed there were only 2 of us, but the lobby employee still didn’t believe him. She charged us for another person because we asked for 3 towels. Her name was Valeria Lizet Martinez, and she was super rude. It was frustrating to see her dismiss and discredit the security employee’s input, even though she was the one who called him because she didn’t believe us. The service was horrible.
