Hotel Boutique Casa Muuch

I’ve stayed a few nights and couldn’t be happier with how kind and attentive the staff and management have been. The rooms are lovely, and the view is fantastic. The restaurants and bars serve great fresh food too.

The main problem was how much noise there was. Casa Muuch sits between two beach clubs that play loud music every day, and construction on the adjoining building, which is part of the same structure, added to it. The beach and outdoor space in the photos are gone now, submerged by the sea, so guests have to use the crowded partner beach club next door. We had no running water for several days. We couldn’t shower or flush the toilets, and you could feel the tension among the other guests. The manager communicated very poorly and struggled to explain the problems. She initially offered a partial refund, but after we left, the offer was reduced to compensation for half a night. After an incredible trip through the Yucatán, we’d booked three nights in Holbox hoping to finish on a high note. Instead, Casa Muuch fell well short of what we expected. It was extremely disappointing, and honestly, I’d avoid this hotel.

The room was spotless, and the whole place has the feel of a private beachfront home. I loved the hotel’s concept. The concierge was really helpful with questions and recommendations, too. We had the room with the plunge pool on top, which was a lovely private spot to watch the sunset. The view from the room was beautiful, and breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked for us each time.

We eventually got 80% of our money back, though they refused to reimburse the full amount because the exchange rate had dropped. The whole exchange was unpleasant and left a bad feeling about the holiday. We’d booked and paid in May 2024, then arrived in February 2025 to find major renovations underway and lots of noise. They hadn’t been transparent with us about the building work, and we were very disappointed and unprepared to stay. The beach area is gone following the expansion and rising sea levels. Another guest, there on her honeymoon, was in tears because the place was nothing like the pictures and there was no running water for a shower. From past reviews, this seems to be a major problem. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
