Casa Frida Holbox

The apartments at Casa Frida are roomy, with good beds and a fantastic shower. The staff were great too. It’s only about three minutes from downtown and the beach. We liked it enough to add two nights after our original two. Definitely recommend Casa Frida.

It’s a decent place to stay, though some upkeep would help. The garden path between the apartments is pleasant, but litter and other bits spoil the look. Behind the apartments there’s even more trash, broken glass, and stuff scattered about. I know the town is rustic, but places like this should set an example for residents instead of copying the mess.

We slept pretty well, and the location was quiet while still close to everything. That was the one real plus, especially with all the late-night partying and traffic in the center. Otherwise Casa Frida felt basic and overpriced. The kitchen had a basic camping hob that didn’t seem entirely safe, water pressure was low, and the outside space was limited. Seven other rooms had to share a small garden with two swings and a hammock. I wouldn’t recommend Isla Holbox in general.

The apartment was simple but good, and very clean. The photos make it look better than it is in person, but the hosts and staff were so kind and helpful. Nice stay, and the location works well.
