Tierra Mia Boutique Hotel

The receptionist brings annoying, screaming kids to work every day. There’s no WiFi outside the lobby, and guests can’t use a fridge. Even the kitchen staff refused to chill a few drinks. Some rooms have shower vents opening straight onto the staircase, so anyone can see inside. There were no blankets in the room, and the receptionist leaves in the early evening. If you miss them, you won’t get a blanket until morning.

We liked the breakfast every morning, especially the hot cakes and fruit, and the service was great. The beach is only a three-minute walk away, and there’s a spa around the corner. The rooms were basic but nice, spacious beds and daily cleaning. WiFi didn’t reach our room, which was really frustrating, and the AC wasn’t as strong as we’d hoped at night in the very hot weather. The doors didn’t seal well, which probably made the rooms harder and more expensive to cool. We found bugs in the bathrooms each night, but they didn’t come into the room, so we could deal with it. We stayed three nights. The lane made us a little nervous at first, but the pretty open reception was a nice surprise. Alonso checked us in and provided great service. It was his last day, so good luck to him! For the price, we didn’t feel the value was amazing, though we still enjoyed our stay.

The staff were friendly throughout, from reception to the restaurant and housekeeping, and the whole place was kept clean. I liked the room design, the pool was well maintained, and the air conditioning worked, which matters a lot on Holbox. The location was lovely too, just a five-minute walk to the beach, which is accessible to everyone. We finished our Mexico round trip here and had four beautiful days. Thanks again, I can absolutely recommend the hotel.

The reception was the best part: she was incredibly helpful setting up transport from cancun and onward to merida, even sorting everything out when we arrived late. Amazing service. The room was nice, the hotel had a pleasant courtyard, and breakfast was decent.
